This page explains, in plain terms, what Observe IQ produces and how its outputs should be treated.

Observe IQ is not legal advice

Observe IQ is a compliance-support tool. It does not provide legal or regulatory advice, and using it does not create any adviser or lawyer-client relationship. No output should be relied on as a legal opinion, as regulatory approval or as confirmation that a website or document meets any requirement.

Observe IQ identifies potential compliance risks. It does not prove that a website is compliant.

Results must be reviewed

Findings, scores and suggested wording are starting points for human review. Results should be reviewed by an appropriately qualified person within your business or by your professional advisers before you change published content or rely on a report.

Suggested wording is drafted to be a practical improvement, not a legally approved form of words. It will often need adapting to your product, your tone of voice and your regulatory position.

Where automation and language models are used

• Rule matching uses a combination of deterministic checks, pattern matching and classification models to decide whether a rule may be engaged by a piece of content.
• Suggested wording is generated by a large language model, given the flagged content, the rule and the context needed to draft an alternative.
• Change detection compares monitored source content between runs and summarises what changed, then proposes rule updates for your review.

Automated systems can make mistakes in both directions. They can flag content that is acceptable in context, and they can miss content that a qualified reviewer would raise. A high score does not mean there is nothing to fix, and a finding does not mean a rule has been breached.

Training and confidentiality

Your website content, uploaded documents, findings and reports are not used to train AI models. Our model providers are contractually prevented from using content submitted through our integrations for training, and from retaining it beyond what is needed to return a response.

Rule coverage and jurisdiction

Available rules depend on the jurisdiction you select and your subscription. Coverage is described on our frameworks page. Rules represent our interpretation of published requirements and are not endorsed by any regulator or authority. Naming a regulator describes the source of a requirement; it does not imply approval, affiliation or endorsement.

Regulatory change monitoring

Horizon scanning monitors selected primary sources. It is not a complete record of regulatory change, and there may be a delay between a change being published and it being detected. Proposed rule updates are held for your review and are not applied to your ruleset unless someone in your team approves them, or unless you explicitly enable automatic activation.

Your responsibilities

You remain responsible for your regulatory obligations, for the accuracy of your published content and for decisions about whether and how to act on a finding.
