Regulatory update: what changed at monitored sources this month
A summary of the changes Observe IQ picked up across FCA, EIOPA, EDPB, EUR-Lex, ICO, IVASS and Garante sources, and which rulesets they affect.

Each month we publish a short summary of what horizon scanning detected across the primary sources Observe IQ monitors, and which rulesets were affected. Customers see the same information in the application, with proposed rule updates attached to the relevant rules.
This summary is provided for information. Always read the underlying source before acting on it, and take your own advice on how a change applies to your business.
United Kingdom
FCA Handbook — product information. Amended wording in the product information provisions affects how documents provided by download are treated. Two proposed rule updates were prepared: one adding a durable-medium check where documents are download-only, and one adjusting the timing check on the quote summary page.
ICO — transparency guidance. Updated examples on describing categories of recipient. No rule change was needed, but the examples have been added to the guidance shown with related findings.
European Union
EIOPA — IPID presentation format. A consultation opened on the presentation format. Because this is a consultation rather than a final change, the proposed rule update is held as optional and marked as not yet in force. Nothing is applied to a customer ruleset until it is reviewed and approved.
EUR-Lex. No changes affecting monitored insurance distribution or data protection instruments.
EDPB. No changes affecting the selected rules this month.
Italy
IVASS. A regulation update affecting pre-contract disclosure produced one proposed rule update, extending the disclosure check to intermediary registration details.
Garante. No changes affecting the selected rules this month.
What this means in practice
Three of the seven monitored sources produced changes, and four proposed rule updates were prepared for review. Two are straightforward extensions of existing checks; one is contingent on the outcome of a consultation and is flagged accordingly.
If you use Observe IQ, proposed updates appear on the horizon scanning screen and wait for approval. If you would like a monthly summary by email, you can enable the weekly digest or the regulatory change alert in notification settings.
